Cribriform-morular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma is a rare
histological subtype of papillary thyroid carcinoma. This subtype is
commonly reported in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis.
However, cases not associated with polyposis have also been reported.
The differential diagnosis of this entity from other aggressive thyroid
neoplasms is important. A 29-year old man presented with a
solitary mass in the left thyroid lobe underwent total thyroidectomy.
Pathologic examination of the specimen revealed cribriform-morular
variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma. After diagnosis, colonoscopy
revealed a normal colon without polyposis. Herein, we report a case
not associated with polyposis and discuss with the literature.
